Project Description

Our goal is important: we want to show the way to reduce carbon and give people and businesses tools to change how they do things. Using a special platform, we're showing clearly how urgent and big it is to cut down on carbon emissions. We're creating a meeting place for everyone who really wants a cleaner, sustainable future.

Every time we work on the computer code, every time we talk with users, we're weaving a picture that helps people understand, learn, and work together. Our smart way of using data and working as a team is guiding us all towards a future with almost no carbon emissions.

We've entered this project into two challenges:

Measuring Emissions – Where should we start? Standardising data for tracking, monitoring, and reporting emissions.
Region: International.

Measuring and reducing carbon emissions from physical infrastructure assets.

Data Story

We have utilised a 5 step data approach to approach our pipeline from data collection to analysis and visualization.
We present our insights as a dashboard
We have used data sets from Australian and International bodies to conduct our analysis
We have developed a proof-of-concept to test the concept of social and green initiatives
1 Data Sources: Your ESG data is stored across government departments, businesses and individuals. These sources are generally used for extraction of data
2. Data Collection: Data is ingested from various data sources. This data may be unstructured, semi-structured or unstructured
3. Data Processing: Your data is validated for any errors, cleaned and transformed for further processing
4. Data Storage: The data is stored in large data storages such as large data warehouses and data lakes ready for analysis
5. Data Visualisation: We perform predictive analysis and visualisation on ESG metrics across Australia. This can help to track and comply with relevant legislations

Challenge Entries

Measuring Emissions – Where should we start? Standardising data for tracking, monitoring, and reporting emissions

Climate change is forcing governments and regulators to enforce stringent norms for businesses to reduce emissions and address environmental risks. There is no standard framework for reporting ESG and climate related risks, leading to non-uniform data. How can this issue be addressed to help organisations better report on their emissions?

Measuring and reducing carbon emissions from physical infrastructure assets

Build a platform / solution to raise awareness of the importance of decarbonisation and to provide resources to help people and businesses make changes to their lifestyles and practices. By enabling a data-driven, collaborative, and user-friendly platforms for decarbonisation, Australia can accelerate its journey to net zero emissions.
